NEW YEARS EVE

I can't believe 2012 is over! It's been such an exciting and fun year but 2013 is about to get even crazier! BUT before I get ahead of myself New Years Eve is always one of my most exciting times! I LOVE getting ready to go out with friends and celebrating a new beginning. However, it always seems to let me down. BUT, THIS YEAR will be different! I'm so excited it took me forever to go to sleep over my plans for tonight! As you probably already know...but it never hurts to be reminded;).....it's THE BASEMENT NEW YEARS BASH!!!!!!!! AHHHH...there really are no words except to say that you better get here or make sure to watch online!!!

Now moving on to the outfit. For me New Years Eve screams sequins! Here is a sneak peak at my outfit. You can find this skirt in a similar color at Express.

My outfit will be topped off with one of these tops. They will sell out quickly so if you would like one leave me a message with your size.

Now I know for some people it can be scary to wear sequins. So if that's you then I would suggest working a little sequin into your look. You can do that with removable pieces so if you get tried of them or just decide in the middle of the night it's no longer you, you can remove it and still look fabulous!! Two pieces I suggest trying first is a sequin scarf or a cardi with sequin details. I'm currently loving these two pieces!

M-I-C-K-E-Y MOUSE

I found this adorbs top at H&M the other week. I grew up loving Mickey and even had a stuff animal. Now it's hard to think that I loved a stuff mouse when I'm so terrified of them. So with that and being a huge Disney fan I really had no choice but to get the top. Also excited to share this awesome scarf that both my cousin and myself are wearing. My other cousin (in the middle) MADE them! Aren't they great?! So excited about my new infinity scarf...thanks cuz!!!;)

Isn't my new camera great?! (Should probably note this last pic was taken via iphone.) I'm not too thrilled this week is over...I need time to slow down!! I'm enjoying my vacation so much and can't believe Christmas is over! Still have a lot to look forward to next week though. Basement's NYE Bash and then Basement trip to Gatlinburg!!! It will be my first trip to the mountains and I could not be more excited! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!

GIFTS

So if you didn't fully understand the name of this blog I think you will after looking at my Christmas gifts! New cross necklace (LOVING)! Bama gear for this years National Championship along with a picture to commemorate last years national championship (expanding my collection for my future sports room)! Oh have I mentioned it's a great time to be a Bama fan?!? And finally new fun fashion finds! I've been looking for YEARS for the perfect leather gloves! I finally found them!:) OH and I'm sure you noticed I Santa brought me my *crimson* camera!!!:):):) I must have been a good girl this year! Tomorrow on the blog I will be putting pics from the new camera! To say I'm in love with it is an understatement!!!:) I hope you all got everything you wanted and more this Christmas!

CHRISTMAS PARTIES 1&2

 So this weekend was full of girls Christmas parties! Friday night I got together with my 3 best friends from college for our annual Christmas party. Usually we make a weekend of it but due to growing up and busy schedules  we made due with just one night. We went out to eat at WINGS ( a fav) and then back to Paige's apartment for presents. Our party is always so much fun! We sit around and everyone opens a present one at a time with plenty of pics taken! They always seem to get me so good and this year was no different. I got the PINK tunic hoodie I've been dying to have and the Juicy perfume I'm obsessed with and a few other fun surprises!:) Thanks girls I LOVE my stuff!!!

On Saturday night I headed over to a friends house for Christmas party number two to get together with some girls from The Basement. We played dirty Santa and had so much fun together!! We also celebrated my friend Laura's birthday! Friends, cake, and presents for everyone....nothing better!!:) I also wore my cross necklace Paige gave me for Christmas and got so many complements!

MORE SEQUIN

So I must admit I had this post ready to go (and thought I hit the 'post' button) for Tuesday. Well clearly that didn't happen. So here I am now the end of the week just noticing my mess up and letting you guys in on a fav new outfit! (*remember when I said work has been busy* understatement*) So as you can tell I'm loving these pants as of recent and to top it off with this sequin sweatshirt it provided me with a great Christmas shopping outfit last weekend! I must admit you will probably see me in this again soon. It was so comfy and surprisingly warm!

I'm so excited to announce that today is my last day of work for the YEAR!!!! Also tonight I have girls Christmas with my 3 best friends that anyone could have (oh I went there) from college! It's our last all single girls Christmas. Then Saturday night I have another Christmas party with Crowned (go here to see what Crowned is)! So excited that holiday season is finally in full swing for me! I love giving gifts even more than I love getting them!

COUNTDOWN AND BUSY DAYS

So yesterday was a very busy day at work for me but got to keep pushing forward so I can get everything done before Christmas break. That unfortunately has taken it's toll on my blog:( BUT I had to share this adorbs pic of my puppy, Lyla. She went to the groomers yesterday and actually lasted until she got home with both bows still attatched (a milestone in our book)!! I try to make her girly (dresses, cheerleader outfit, bows) but somehow I got the only wild english cream puppy. Only me! One of the main reasons I wanted a girl dog was to put pink bows in her ears and I ended up with the dog who would rather fight you and than wear bows. (See why yesterday was such a big deal?!) 

I hope you all are having a wonderful week!! 2 more work days for me (FOR THE YEAR)!!! Yes I'm fired up! ;) Also I'm in an extra good mood because I'm getting my hair done after work! I love that I get to have an amazing friend who also happens to be my hair stylist. AND my other awesome friend will be there at the same time. So I know this will be a good time!!

Happy Monday only 8 more days until CHRISTMAS!!!! And only 5 more work days for the year (at least for me)....Praise the Lord!!!:) So ready for a break! So I finished up most of my Christmas shopping this weekend. Only 3-4 more presents to go! AND bonus I got everything I have bought wrapped!:) 

During the holidays I like to wear anything/everything that shimmers, glitters, and has sequins. So our Basement team meetings and recent shopping trips have me pulling out everything I own that looks the part. And friends don't worry I've left the best for the NYE bash!!! I LOVE this top! If you follow me on instagram (which if not you can find me at abbysmith_rtr) you saw where I posted this top/vest combo last weekend while out shopping. I loved it so much I decided to wear it again styled just a tad bit different for the colder weather. (Which I'm so not complaining about!!:)) And it appears a fur vest has quickly become a go to piece in my winter wardrobe...currently (well after Christmas) on the hunt for a grey one!

CHRISTMAS WISH LIST - PART 2

So today I thought I would follow up with more great gifts to both give and receive just because Christmas is my favorite!!!:)

#1 - Victoria's Secret The Fireside Long Jane Pajama! Every time I wear them I always imagine myself sitting in a cabin in the mountains with a cup of hot coco. Someday right;) I already have 2 pairs (from the past 2 years) in my possession and I love them more every year. They always seem to change things up just a bit to keep me buying. And total bonus right now they are on SALE!!

#2 - So while I'm sharing all my secrets I thought I would share another blog that I LOVE....Hello Fashion!! She has amazing style and an amazing online store to boot (Ily Couture)! She has a new shirt (and sweatshirt) that will be in my wardrobe after the first of the year (when I have some money)!!

#3 - So like I mentioned earlier in the week I'm head over heels about the Neiman Marcus + Target collaboration!! Yes, I bought some of my own Christmas presents from the collection! I've also purchased some of the collection to give as well! (Can't be selfish with pieces like these!) For a girl who LOVES high fashion and the top name brands but can't afford them Target has made a way and I couldn't be more thankful! And yes I did have the day it came out marked on my calendar and went to get what I wanted that day!;) What can I say I'm a girl who knows what she wants!! So if nothing else I'd advise you head out to your nearest Target or to Target online to browse the collection. You won't be disappointed!

#4 - So I was talking with a friend the other day and she told me about this great deal at Sephora! I've already told like 5 other people about it. I think it's a wonderful gift that keeps on giving!;) For Christmas Sephora has created a hers (or his) fragrance sampler with samples of 12 of their top selling perfumes. Then BONUS on top of that you get a voucher for a FREE fragrance of the one you like the best all for $50!! Told you it was great!

CHRISTMAS WISH LIST

So since Christmas is less than 2 WEEKS away I thought I would share a few items that are on my list. (Although technically I never made a list this year. I have a mental list so that counts right?!) 

#1 - After I saw this on a blog I stalk  LOVE (caraloren) I could not resist! I began to follow them on Facebook and when I saw a promo code for a good discount I could not resist! (Who doesn't love a GOOD discount?!) It's currently in Cali on it's way to me and I'm SO VERY excited to play around with it!!!

#2 - So I'm still new to Instagram but a few weeks I ran across this page with the most beautiful pieces of jewelry for the BEST prices. (They also have great scarfs and clutches.) Although I haven't yet ordered anything (Which is mostly because I can't decide what I want. I want it ALL!) I love checking this site for new pieces. And even though things run out quickly I've noticed from my stalking looking that things are replenished often! So go check it out NOW!! Papers and Peonies (Isn't the name even adorable?!)

#3 - Now for you avid/obsessed sports fans like me here is something perfect just for you!! (I'm dying over this I want it in like 5 different teams. No seriously...Alabama, Jets, Saints, Falcons....)

#4 - Now what's a wish list without a new shoe from your fellow shoe lover?! However, I have to very sadly report...I had a difficult time even finding the pic online. But if they are still store somewhere grab them up....they are going fast!! I'm hoping for an in-store sale!!:)

Happy Wednesday!!:) I hope that you are staying healthy! It seems everyone I know is getting sick/been sick/has a family member with something. To say that hand sanitizer has been my BEST friend would be an understatement! Also I'm so excited to share my new necklace! I've been wanting something similar and happen to find this at H&M on Saturday! I have a feeling this will be a new statement piece!
