SHIMMER AND GOLD

I must admit since arriving back in town last week from the best beach trip ever, I've been struggling. If it was not for caffeine I don't know how I would function! It appears I've joined team no sleep and a week later I'm still fighting it! But back to the trip here is my outfit from night one. I think I've fallen in love with this look. It looks fancy but it was the most comfortable! And I recently learned how to put my hair up in a cute, quick up-do which greatly helped for the stormy weather our first day!

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend...I know I did!! It was just what I needed before my busy and SO exciting and fun week ahead! The Basement is headed to Panama City Beach the end of the week for a time to refresh and take things to the next level! I can't wait! WORKING ON MY FITNESS

So I post this in light of a conversation that I had with some of my friends last Wednesday. We were talking about working out and when you do, do you put thought into what you are going to wear. Some said yes, some said no. Me of course said yes. My thought is that when I look good (i.e., match) I feel good and when I feel good I work harder. So below is one of my fav workout combos...pink and black:) 

Which side are you on....to match or not to match to workout?! 

Side note: I am working out at my house by myself...I like to match just for me!!;)

PEEK-A-BOO

So apparently another summer staple in my closet is black and grey....see yesterday's post here:) But seriously can we all just take a moment for these shoes! I think this is my 3rd year to wear them. They are a must for my summer closet. I have no idea what I'm going to do when something happens to them...they are already looking very worn:( Jessica Simpson knows her shoes...and her way into my closet!!! I also loved getting to sport my other bubble necklace by ILY Couture! What?! every girl needs a pink AND purple necklace:) But moving on to the actual outfit...I loved this outfit...it was perfect for a summer night out with my girls at a dinner and a movie.

SUMMER STAPLES

There are few things that are becoming more and more seen in my daily wardrobe these days. The first being shorts! I'm usually not a huge fan of shorts. I don't quite know what it is but if I get a choice I'm going with skinnies or leggings over shorts. However, these days I don't have a choice..this heat is just too much! The second has been a cute casual/dressy tee. I am a sucker for anything I can dress up and dress down. A plain tee with a pocket or a tee with few sequins can really go a long way with me. Lastly, with this heat there are two things that always happen to me #1 my make-up looks like it is melting away (think wicked witch of the west or at least that's how I feel) and #2 flat hair. Therefore, to help avoid the second I have started wearing my hair straight again. It's been/still is a big adjustment for me. What are some of your summer wardrobe staples?

IT'S CORAL NOT ORANGE

So any of you that know me understand my love passion for football and that Bama is my #1 team. Therefore, I typically avoid all things orange and blue for obvious reasons (yes even FL orange and blue). No need to confuse anyone;) With that being said...when I saw this dress I immediately was in love with it..the fabric is amazing, it's so comfy, and the perfect length for work. I usually get a comment about me in orange when I wear this...mostly because it's the only thing I own this color...and in my head I claim it's coral not orange!!:)
